Barry started out his career as a Protection Technician, owned his own Electrical Contracting Company, and ran the Electrical/Mechanical Division for the East London branch of a Consulting firm. Barry then moved into full-time ministry as the Senior Pastor of First City Baptist Church, an inner-city church in East London, South Africa. After more than eight years, he moved into the Senior Pastor role at Westway Community Church in Gqeberha.

He is the author of the book “Becoming a Jesus Christian,” which lays out the simple journey of achieving the calling Christ has placed on each believer. His heart is to see every Christian reach their full potential in Christ through the preaching of the Gospel in both word and action. Barry has been involved as a board member of MMMSAT for more than 15 years.

He was married to Donnae for 32 years, who sadly passed away in 2025, and has two daughters and two sons-in-law, all of whom love the Gospel. Four granddaughters and a grandson. He considers himself fully blessed!
