John has been a pastor for the past 36 years, serving in 3 different churches as well as the Baptist Union of South Africa as the National Youth Director. He is currently the Senior Pastor of Home Ground Church in Durban, South Africa.

He is committed to seeing the church fulfil its calling to serve not only its local community but also respond to God working outside of the local church’s geographical boundaries and traditional church missions.

He has served as Board Chairman of MAF South Africa as well as a number of other mission and mission service organisations. He is one of the founding members of MMM South Africa as well as Hope Schools and Sophumelela Clinic Inc., a church-based ministry serving those infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS in the greater East London area.
